 BRIGHT IDEAS

This begins our 4th season raising awareness and raising funds to keep the great work of NACoA thriving.  In January ‘02 we selected the WALT DISNEY WORLD® Marathon as our venue, a place symbolic of joy for families, especially joy for The Children.

We had such a grand time that we made WALT DISNEY WORLD® our Year 2 destination and, in Year 3, added Marine Corps and Detroit. In 3 years we’ve had a total of 210 participants who raised over $300,000 !!!.

This 4th season, we’re walking and running for another $300,000! We’ve added 2 more marathon events this year to attract “the locals.”

Here’s what you can expect from us as your coaches and cheerleaders…

FUND-RAISING TIPS

In our email updates, and in the training newsletter, we’ll share with you ideas on how to maximize your fundraising efforts.

Text Box: COACH’S CORNER

Dr. Paul Robinson and Christina Pitts will offer training suggestions from their own experience, and from seasoned walkers and runners, to make your marathon adventure all you dreamed and more!

Caveat:  We don’t offer medical advice!  Just tips from many sources.

Fellow team members and others will share successes and lessons from their own experience.

Here are your 1st Bright Ideas:

i  Try on 3 pairs of the same-size and style shoe you like.   Shoes don’t run true to size, and you want to be certain you have the right fit.

i When you find the right running/walking shoes, buy extras.  Don=t risk the style becoming discontinued!  Depending on how much wear/tear your shoes endure, consider buying enough pairs to get you to your event with a pair of shoes slightly broken in.

That’s all, Folks!”   Until our next newsletter, may the wind be at your back and the road rise to meet you.  Run for the Children!.  What a wonderful legacy we begin to build!

Keep S-Milin’ !!
